इतिहास
Google ने On2 Technologies के अधिग्रहण के बाद 2010 में WebM को रिलीज़ किया। यह फॉर्मेट Matroska कंटेनर पर आधारित है और मुक्त वेब वीडियो मानकों को बढ़ावा देने के लिए बनाया गया था। HTML5 वीडियो के साथ इसका उपयोग बढ़ता रहा।
